Lazy Year

Well The new year is about to begin. I wasn't very active with my blog. I am still trying to understand how to use the blog to its full potential. I never learned how to use the linky button. I shall see if that works. I did google. The linky buttong didn't work. I may be expanding on my blog. Maybe adding in my thoughts on weight loss and other things. I have a wine blog out there and I started another blog on my reasons not to work out. More to come so stand by!

I am still here... so behind on my sewing.

I have been so busy with new gadgets in my home. I have not had a chance to get my sewing room up and running...err sewing. I am so far behind on requests for crafts. Just returned from vacation in Florida. It was fun. I will never go back to Universal Studios. The guest services was awful and really not much to do. Sew soon.

Baby Showers...bring May Flowers!

I know it's been awhile since my last blog. I have three baby showers to attend. I made Taggy Blankets. I researched many sites to find what I wanted. So I can't attribute to one particular site. My ingredients: (LOL taken from the moda site) chenille, minky and 5 different ribbons one inch wide of different textures. I cut 14 inch blocks and 4 inch long ribbons. Oh and the secret ingredient to make a scrunchy sound..... I used one of the kids mm easter candy bag and cut to fit a corner of the block. It was easy enough even for a beginner. However, that minky is slippery stuff. I was told to try minky and satin. I may do that for future taggy blankets. I want to add a picture however, flikr is not working. I will have to look into that. I am going to be making soft baskets and burpie cloths next. Need to get my sewing room set up and then no more moving everything fifteen times. Blog soon.

Lazy weekend. I bought more sewing stuff and thought about the design of my new sewing room. I bought a jelly roll. Still not sure what to do with it.

The Weekend is upon Me again. Looks Like Snow!

The weekend is here for me. I am off tomorrow. I can't wait to get started on my craft ideas. I have another to add to the list. A drawstring backpack. I have been surfing some sites. I will be back to post pictures.

Work Week

So back to work. Thinking about my projects for the rest of month. Forgot that I have to think about baby shower gifts. I have found a diaper cake tutorial, burpee cloths, bibs, quilts blankets and so much more. I can't wait to get started on these projects.

Wow my weekend is over. I finished the crafts that I wanted to finish. I completed the cosmetic bag, courtesy of sew like my mom tutorial, which will match my Night Owl bag for big girls that I made on Friday. The tutorial was difficult for me to understand. I have no vision. Good thing I had my lil red head help me with it. She has the vision. It came out pretty cool. I learned how to use fusible vinyl. The vinyl that I used appears a bit flimsy it makes crunchy noises. I think if I make another one I will make it out of heavier vinyl. I also sewed in a zipper. Something I have never done before. I again used the Michael Miller collection material. The material is so nice to the touch. So to wrap up the weekend. I completed three projects, sewed my finger and got nothing else done.

I did change the pattern a wee bit I made the zipper pull bigger. To show off the third pattern of fabric. My next three projects are going to be a jewelry roll, from , therapeutic neck wrap, from stardustshoes, and a Kobo cover for my e-reader. I will have to apologize to whomever this belongs to because I cant seem to find who posted it. I may run across it. So looking forward to posting those pictures. Oh and looking for a how to blog book. I don't know how to link yet.
